BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the owner of RidingTheWheel App. I own a local offline business which helps travelers in planning as well as executing their whole journey.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire AppsChopper, and what were your goals?

I have hired AppsChopper to build a RidingTheWheel app for my business. It’s basically a travel booking, vehicle rent, hotel booking app. I would say an all-in-one app for travel lovers. With this mobile app, I wanted to help people who love traveling to provide 1 single app which will help them to book hotels, rent bikes, cars, find solo travelers with whom they can plan their trips. First, I wanted to get the app developed. Then I will hire AppsChopper’s marketing team to help me do the marketing of the app for more installs.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I searched for the best mobile application development company in New York and got many lists. I went through the name of the companies and their websites. Checked their portfolios, the latest work and other channels. After that, I made a list of top 5 companies. Contacted them personally. I had a series of interviews with all the teams. Finally, after going through all the if’s and buts, in’s and out’s, I decided to go with AppsChopper.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

In the first few days me with my 2 other partners met with their teams and held sessions where we discussed everything about the app. We told them that we wanted both Android and iOS versions of the applications. Their team took a day and provided beautifully designed wireframe's. But in the mean time we had some change in the plan so they took one more day to revise it and provide us the new one. it was looking good.

Few changes we told them from our side to make as well as the too suggested us few things to keep in the app to which we happily agreed. After we agreed on those proposals, we moved toward screen designs. We faced a lot of changes in deciding the theme and screens. It wasn't that difficult to make them understand from our side neither they showed any sign of tiredness or rigidness to us.

Whatever we said they implemented as well as in some point when they felt like what we are saying will hamper us they used to make keep their point and explain us the thing which was very good. After so many ifs' and buts' we finalized the designs and moved to the development phase. We are hoping that by the end of September of first week of October our app will be ready for users to use.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

The team assigned to my project comprises an app designer, a business analyst, a hybrid developer, a backend developer, an IT engineer, a project manager, and a test engineer later we have planned to hire their app marketing team to promote our app.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We have just started working on the project.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

They created a project on Basecamp and shared all the details on it. Everything is managed on that. Regarding our communication, we do that on Skype, emails. Their team is very fast in responding to my queries, they have worked on the weekends to meet the deadlines. The project manager as well as his team are very cooperative and patient.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The work quality of AppsChopper is uncompromising. Their work style is commendable, and they got the best minds with them. Their team readily assists and clears any doubts I have. Their work process is transparent, fast and reliable.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Their team is doing a commendable job without any doubt. So, as of now, there is nothing that we can say they need to improvise.
