Verifying all our security standards are in place with various checks and balances. All build and deploy operations were done in Jenkins, not manually by people. All major cloud activities were optimized to reduce costs. All security checks were done on-time and with minimal impact to our release process.

I am the founder of Stellar Menus. Our mission is to help restaurants achieve success by empowering them to effectively showcase and refine their offering. In 2021 I built a beta version of our product to test it in the market. Once we defined all the requirements, we set out to find a company who could help us build a commercially viable version of our product on AWS. That's when we hired ClickIT.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We looked at vendors in a variety of regions and ended up deciding a "near shore" vendor would work best for us. We then interviewed 3 to 4 firms in Mexico and selected ClickIT. We selected ClickIT because of the quality of their team.

ClickIT worked with us to define the platform architecture, deploy the development and production environments on AWS, and then to develop the required micro services. We provided the business requirements, scope and product/UI designs. ClickIT did the the rest of the work. I should note that we have launched our MVP, but development continues and we continue to partner with ClickIT.

Our team has ranged from 4 people to 8 people. Currently we have 2 dedicated developers, a project manager and dev ops on demand. We also have a QA resource from ClickIT on the project.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The work product has been high quality. We began bringing customers onto the platform 2 months ago. We have of course founds some bugs, but they are quickly resolved when they surface.

I am a founder and CEO. But I also have deep technical knowledge. In the early stages I was very hands on and had daily calls with the team. I believe this level of engagement is required to bring a new product to market.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The team at ClickIT DevOps & Software Development is very customer-focused. They strive to ensure you are happy with their work and the outcomes. They seek feedback and make adjustments when necessary.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

If I was doing this again, I would have come to the table with stronger design requirements. There were times when things were done that did not make sense, but I believe this was caused by developers having to fill in the blanks where specifications were lacking. I believe we as the customer have to own that. But I do wish that the developers had pushed back more sometimes. Overall this has not been a big issue. It is just an area for improvement for both us and for ClickIT.

We hired a DevOps engineer from ClickIT to drive our infrastructure-as-code initiatives forward and leverage their deep expertise in AWS. We also hired a Sr Software developer from ClickIT for their experience in Vue.js. Our goals were to have these team members serve as an extension of our team and contribute to some of our most pressing challenges.

We researched several nearshore options and landed on ClickIT because they offered the best balance of quality and price. They were hungry, responsive, and eager to prove. I also saw in my research that they had a culture very similar to ours and that was an important factor in our decision.

Scope of work is confidential but broadly speaking, our deliverables for DevOps are infrastructure automation and CICD. Technologies include AWS's many services, Terraform, Gitlab, and some Python scripting. For the Sr Software engineer, deliverables include general new feature delivery and performance optimizations. Technologies include Vue.js, Node.js, Python, and MongoDB.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Significant progress has been made on infrastructure automation in the last 2 months, in about half the time that was originally allocated. Velocity on the software dev team has also seen a measurable increase with the addition of the ClickIT resource.

They use Slack and zoom to communicate, are very effective and collaborative, and have seamlessly integrated with our team.

We love the culture of finding and nurturing the best talent in Mexico. They celebrate their people and their successes, have established thought leadership in the DevOps space particularly, and are very, very responsive , flexible, and easy to collaborate with and partner. Overall, they are a fantastic partner to work with.

I am coordinator of the innovation area, we are dedicated to specialized software in the financial sector, we are currently expanding with clients that have operations at a national and international level.

In our company we do not have an area specialized in the automation of integration and continuous deployment, we had a challenge with a requesting client, for this reason we contracted the services of the company ClickIT.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We selected ClickIT because it is a Mexican company, the alternatives were foreign and the working hours were out of phase, seeing the issue of support or some impediment that could arise. They also offer better documentation and the post-release support time is longer.

The project consisted of automating the integration and deployment of our application in the company's internal environments and later in the client's environments. The first phase consisted of the development of the pipeline that is executed in the infrastructure that we have in Azure, there we had to compile the solution, execute unit tests, deploy and execute end-to-end tests, as a last step pass the compiled code to a repository of the client on GitHub. As a second phase, the code that was in the GitHub repo, had to change the configurations, create the pipeline that would connect to the server of the environment in which it was running, configure the server, deploy the site and finally run tests. end to end.

They assigned 3 people, one person as project coordinator and two guys who were in charge of developing the pipeline.

At the moment it is the evidence that was provided to the client with a demonstration, the client was able to see the site displayed and access it from a browser.

the workflow was very good, they are very participative guys, with all the attitudes and aptitudes to take on the challenge that arises, they have good availability.

We see that they have their staff in training and certifications. It is reflected in how they provide solutions to impediments that arise. I liked the ability to react.

Communicate with them as much as possible and do a lot of verification. Check-in with their team a couple of times a day and have open communication — have a lot of casual conversations so they’ll feel safe coming forward.
