We found them and submitted an application to them for a free website - everything we had seen was very positive so we were confident in the end result.

We used Bluehost as the basis, gave them admin rights to the URL, and they built a website using WordPress. We picked a theme or two and they integrated in for us.

While we still haven't completed our website (COVID is to blame...), we are absolutely delighted with the work they did for us.

We were in touch via email regularly - whenever we had questions, Sven was very quick to respond.

Their willingness to help small businesses like ours for free was really admirable. We spend a lot of pro bono time helping poor students and the like, so we loved that they shared a similar life view.

No, they did marvelous!

Our company worked with The Free Website Guys to build SustainableTracker.com to begin aggregating information, events, and actions related to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

The Free Website Guys did not charge to build the website but selected our project based on their vetting process. Costs for the site were only for the hosting and Wordpress theme (optional) that gave them a small affiliate payment.

Approximately 5 months after submitting the project idea to The Free Website Guys, Sven - the Lead Developer - reached out to say that they selected SustainableTracker.com to build. With each step of the build out, he sent clear instructions including videos recorded by the team to get feedback and input on what to build.

The process was very straightforward for them to build the backend based on the look and framework of content that I wanted, and I was able to easily go into the backend to wrap up the project by turning the site live and editing the template with content that I wanted to put on the website.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

I had one main point of contact only, Sven (Lead Developer) who indicated that overall the team spent about 7 hours on the website.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The website is now live and I'm able to make edits to it whenever I would like, and get feedback from the public on the content. There will be more work to get the content to the next level and begin driving more traffic to the site.

Overall, Sven and The Free Website Guys team are awesome! They have a straightforward process to build the framework for a new website, with videos and written details to make it easy to update content. The team is highly responsive and able to turn your vision into reality. It's unique to find a website development company that will not charge for the hours of service. I think that their process is buttoned up and scalable.

I wouldn't change anything in the way they worked. They allowed me to follow up on my own time, and were also quick to respond after I did send them the required information to move on to each next step.

I heard about the Free Website Guys through a new business colleague. I took a look at their website to understand their capability and how they could help; I quickly made an application since I had to set up a new online presence for my property development business and I wanted to outsource the heavy lifting for the task.

Their team was so quick to get back to me with the good news that my project was of interest and from the point they set the ball rolling Sven was absolutely great with communication, progress reports, providing easy to understand videos which laid out options for next steps and helped me know what was required at each step of the way.

I'm glad they did all the technical delivery - it was fantastic and I'm certainly coming back to them with future paid projects. Our property development website looks highly professional and meets the vision we had in mind at the start of the project. Huge thanks to the entire team!

One of their representatives contacted a group of mine via social media. After an informative discussion, I decided to request for their help with developing a website for the consultancy. The goal is to have a platform through which we can spread the message about our aims and services.

The FWG team was quick in responding to my questions and offered a great deal.

After the introduction, they provided me with a guideline and video which explains the web development process. I bought a domain, selected a website template, and provided them with a list of changes to be made to the template. Then, they begin building the website. They used wordpress and a number of tools to build the website.

There could have been more but my guess would be two people. My main contact point throughout the web development process was Sven, the Lead Developer. After the first submission, I needed a couple of minor revisions to be done and he said that one of his developers will handle the minor changes.

Unfortunately, it is not possible at the moment. The website template has been delivered but the website has not been launched.

The team made sure that the project would progress smoothly by planning ahead and maintaining active communication. Having one contact person throughout the project simplifies the communication process. Aside from the initial contact via social media, the rest of the communication was done via email.

They put a lot of effort into planning every step ahead in order to avoid potential problems.

Their quality of work on their website looked great and the fact it was free only sweetened the deal

We communicated strictly over email where Sven sent very clear instructions on what was needed on my end. Through a series of a dozen or so emails we switched website hosts, chose the theme and customized it to our branding/colour schemes. In the end a very detailed handover package was sent to me with how to further customize the website and navigate Wordpress.

Sven was my main point of contact. He was very punctual, detail oriented and great at following up if I missed one of his emails.

The Free Website Guys asked me what kind of website I wanted and built it using WordPress. I’m not very familiar with web pages, but I was also involved in creating my site.

It is a straightforward website because I’m just starting — it will be like a blog for the time being. I need to work on it a little bit still, but it looks good. It is mainly a blog where I have some text and pictures.
