We hired The Free Website Guys to create a professional business website for our company.

Can you describe the scope of work The Free Website Guys handled for your project? 

The Free Website Guys was supposed to design our website, and we would upload the content. The team offered to build our new website at no charge, but the catch was that we had to use their partner Bluehost to host the new site, to which we agreed.

What is the team composition?

We don't know how many teammates from The Free Website Guys were assigned to our project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with The Free Website Guys at the end of June 2025, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We haven't seen any evidence that The Free Website Guys is building our website. We were hoping to see tangible proof in the form of the professional template we purchased per their recommendation uploaded to our WordPress site, ready for us to begin uploading content.

How did The Free Website Guys perform from a project management standpoint?

The Free Website Guys has been vague and slow to reply to our emails after reading them. We don't hear from our contact person until a week has passed. The team hasn't followed through or addressed our concerns in a timely manner or at all.

Communication has been a major issue. Our email feature shows that our messages to our contact have been opened, yet they often go without a response for over a week, even when marked urgent. The responses we do receive are frequently vague and fail to address all of our questions. This lack of transparency and the constant runaround is unacceptable.

What did you find most impressive or unique about them?

So far, we're not impressed with The Free Website Guys. They're uniquely consistent with not following through with their promises.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The Free Website Guys could actually follow through with what they promise and be more proactive when it comes to responding to emails. The team could also respond to customers' direct concerns without being so vague in their responses or replies.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

We strongly advise others to be aware of this before engaging with The Free Website Guys. So far, our experience has been one of unfulfilled promises and a serious lack of communication and transparency.

They changed the domain host for our existing website and also gave us access to 'Screencastify' which saved us a lot of time. They loved our concept and Logo which was very useful. Excellent prompt service with guidance all the way. Lastly they truly were free and even saved us money by changing to their recommended ' Bluehost' which included SEO tools and good security.

The Free Website Guys did literally everything for my site. They built the backend and provided a live virtual tutorial for us to learn how to change the look etc of the site as well as how to launch the site.

They are so informative, and communicate so well in order to keep you updated throughout the entire process of building your page. I highly recommend them if you’re thinking of starting up a website, but don’t know where to start…and if they can’t do something you’re looking for, they are very helpful in suggesting others who can as well! 10/10!

This is making my wearable art business come to life before my eyes. The whole process was tedious, but educational and taught me a good technical skill. Their outreach program is definitely a life changing digital platform for a small business owner like myself.
