Please describe your company and your position there.

Panopticum - a company dedicated to advancing the virtual, augmented and mixed reality industries. Our members are HighTech and established Media specialists, Research Institutes and Universities, Start-Ups, Freelancers and plain VR enthusiasts. We are working actively on different areas, from sales & marketing, events & communication to knowledge transfer and R&D. I ensure high levels of customer satisfaction as well as up-sell and cross-sell potential within existing customers to maximize share of wallet.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Mente?

We were looking for a partnership to help us understand what our next steps should be taken for a project we had been running to go forward, as it came to a halt at one point. The project concerned a complex legal system that relied on very sensitive data provided by state authorities. The investor involved required from us a timely delivery and particularly careful budget management.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We discovered Mente through an IT Cluster and they seemed to be a solid and reliable partner already upon the first meeting.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

We received a highly professional support while completing the project. At all stages, Mente searched for the simplest and most cost-effective solutions that would both work long-term and allow for scaling the system. After receiving information about the project situation, Mente impressed us with their quick response time. In the first two weeks, Mente solved critical problems (such as adjusting the system to a modified external API) and delivered key new features for us to meet a project deadline, all despite facing some outdated technologies and incomplete system documentation. They mitigated some security risks and raised our awareness in this respect. At the same time, they also planned the workload and next stages of development. Here Mente, thanks to their experience, solved further complex issues related to API integrations, improved the UX of the existing system and delivered a new, critical module, involving machine-learning solutions for the system to learn. They have allowed us to reach the investor's aims.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We worked closely with the two Mente founders, as architects and lead problem-solvers and developers, and with one full-stack developer.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We have been able to meet all the project deadlines and deliver the missing parts of the system, as well as ensure its better security and usability. The project investor is happy with the achieved results.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We were in contact through video calls and emails as well as meeting on site. Robert and Slawomir always responded quickly to our queries.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

These guys definitely go above and beyond, by being thoughtful and proactive in both communicating and designing the system architecture for long-term and wide development. They know how to use their awareness of numerous factors to successfully deliver the project.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

None. Their team has high-end architects on board who have offered us unconventional solutions to perfectly adapt to the our client's needs. Also, they are problem-solvers who pinpoint the root causes of different challenges and address them in a fast, effective way. As developers they deliver solutions that realize all the expected functions and can be built on in the future. All their efforts produce impressive results.
