BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a partner at a pharmaceutical advertising company. We primarily work with medical clients across the US, and we make interactive experiences and marketing materials for different vendors. 

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Level30Wizards?

We needed help with an interactive website that allowed people to find the right medical trial. In addition, we also needed support for our various technology-related projects. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

For Wizards’ first assignment, we needed them to develop the animations and logic behind our trial recruitment web application using our designs. The user would have to answer a series of questions to make sure they qualified. We wanted a user-friendly, modern, and aesthetically pleasing platform with the functionality we needed.

They worked on different pop-ups that gave information throughout the site. Additionally, they ironed out animations and other design assets to make the app look and feel natural to the user. 

Wizards’ second project was a conference experience, and we collaborated on its design. We used technology to capture the reason why people used our product throughout the event. A mobile version of the site was used as an input device. As users added their sentiments, their information would go to a database. 

The system would then create a beautiful, three-dimensional (3D) image using the database. It was like an art installation that featured two giant kidneys, and they’re all in 3D. You can fly around them and see all the different sentiments people had for our products. 

As we got more sentiments into the 3D image, the image changed color. We built the 3D structure and worked with them to bring it into the web. They also did the backend that connected the database and sentiments that were going into it. 

Wizards is currently doing minor tweaks on our projects, and we’re looking to do two new projects with them.

What is the team composition?

I’ve worked with their entire team, including Mees and Servin (Co-Founders). 

How did you come to work with Level30Wizards?

My partner was looking for new engineers to help with some of our projects. We were looking for smart and talented people. 

We found Wizards online, and we got on a call with their team. After that, we just hit off — they had a really great sense of design. Their work feels comfortable and nice. Due to their design aesthetic and artistic touch, we thought they were a perfect fit for our project. 

We gave them a small task to start, and they did everything we needed and more. After that, we expanded our partnership.

How much have you invested with them?

I’ve spent close to €30,000 (approximately $34,000 USD). 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in May 2021, and it’s ongoing. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Our clients are over the moon with Wizards’ work and want us to do more work with them. Although we’ve encountered bugs during the initial stages, they’ve been able to take care of them immediately. That said, there have been no bugs in our app’s final version.

How did Level30Wizards perform from a project management standpoint?

Wizards has met all our deadlines, no matter how short or inconvenient they are. They’ve given me a scope of work at the start of the project, and they’ve followed through on that. We typically communicate through Slack, and we have weekly check-ins.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The creative partnership Wizards has provided is impressive. Their engineers are also artists, and they bring a lot of subtlety that other engineers don’t see. That’s huge for us — we’re all about the art and feel of our web app. We don’t want a plain app; we want an experience. 

Wizards is the perfect partner for us because they bring another level to their work. We’ve gone to them with flat designs, and they’ve proposed doing something 3D, which I loved. They pushed forward our designs. They stand out among other web developers. 

I love Wizards’ team — they’re doing great work. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything. My experience with them has been positive. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Go with a solid plan of what you want, but be willing to let them share their expertise and knowledge with how it should be built. We see them as partners, and because of that, we get the most from their team.
