After reading about several IT solution teams, Octal offered the most comprehensive package to support our needs.

There are 8 people on project management tool, and I’m usually in communication with 7–8 people from Octal. The business analyst is my main contact, and I talk to the developers when needed and project manager when required.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

I had no app launched in the App Store and play store as we are doing beta testing. It usually works bug-free, and when there is a bug, the user usually won’t notice it. Those are in the lines of a wrong icon or a wrong image size — things that I’ll catch. Octal works on bug fixing really fast, and they ensure that things are going well. If there’s an issue, they start working on it instantly. Octal is really supportive, fast, and helpful in this area. 

We’ll always face issues during the development process. Working with a bigger company like Octal makes it more likely to find solutions for those issues. We’re still in the finalization process, so we’ve only run small advertisements for the app. I’ve received specific feedback on it, which means they’re really working with the app

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We’re using Trello and Skype. Their project manager and business analyst is doing an excellent job, and it’s easy to follow all the tasks and issues. I test new builds in TestFlight and write my feedback in Trello. Then, Octal starts working on that feedback. Once everything is finished, the issue ticket is closed. The system is professional and easy to understand, even for someone new in the business.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They’re very straightforward and honest. Rather than looking for payable hours, they strive to deliver a good product to the client. It’s very important for me that the people involved are really putting their hearts into the product, and this is the case with Octal team. I can see this in the feedback they give me. They’ve recommended things that saved me money and made the product better.

The team has been great and very responsive.

The project is just started and we are already very satisfied with their work. They have started great and I am very confident in the smooth progress of the project.

Octal IT Solution has a very unique approach to working with its clients. They keep things very organized and are always on time. My experience so far with them has been great.

Since I have started working with them very recently, there is nothing I found where they need any sort of improvement.

We selected this vendor based on the reviews and the lies that they fed us before signing of the contract. The team was super nice and told us everything we wanted would be completed.

This is the worst mistake i have ever taken from a business standpoint . I DO NOT RECCOMAND anyone to deal with octal. They did things within my app that i did not ask for and they charged me thousands of dollars for something that i could not make live. for example, They did not make my app dark theme friendly and when this was brought to their attention, they wanted to steal more money from me.

The app was rushed and they just wanted to complete the app without taking into consideration any of my request. They demanded i pay more money if i wanted anymore changes not taking into account the thousands of money i had already spent.

The whole team is terrible at what they do. Laveena, and Rahul were the people that i had dealt with from Octal. If you want to build a successful app PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!! DO NOT CONTACT THIS COMPANY. You are better off spending money in your own country to get something of a high quality delivered to you. Save your money and do not contact Octal.

Communication through Whatspp. Once they were fed up with your requests, they would take ages to reply to you.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Nothing, Worst company ever.

They need to shut down the company.

The vendor responded on September 29, 2022.

A recent review from one of our client Roda Oma. Roda wanted to develop a dating app for which the scope of work was documented agreed & signed by for a budget of $12,000.  We delivered on time as per signed contract. 
Below points show client was careless and how wanted new changes for FREE. 
1. Things were good till a marketing person came in and added things beyond the scope stating it should be developed by default. After the app was uploaded on play store her new marketing manager added new changes ignoring the agreement. 
2. The client ignored regular work progress emails & after repeated follow up she stated that did not have testing team & still accuse us for delays.
3. In good faith we did multiple changes for free, even after signing off the project & completing FREE support period. 
4. Client did not bother to clarify anything on her own instead bothered us for all small things. Even after going an extra mile clients allegation that we were replying late is unacceptable.
5. Dark theme friendly changes were fixed perfectly at no cost. As other extra Change Request’s which were going to take month's work, we denied to fix it as it was not part of the scope of work.
6. She was aware of the feedback system and always threatened us with poor review to get extra work for FREE.
7. Overall, Roda was highly unprofessional. She never checked anything on her own and always blamed her own mistake on the team.

We request you to consider the above points and if required we can even provide proof of the above claims and would look forward to a fair decision as such clients black mail services companies to get FREE services.

Octal IT solutions developed an iOS/Android logistics app and web panel. The project involved a lengthy period of defining the requirements (around 7–8 months) followed by the design stage and development.

Deliverables are on time and now the transporters and shippers are associated with the application as it is user friendly.

Project management was pleasant. The project manager had much responsibility and deadlines were tight. Not everything has been delivered on time or delivered to spec. We had many setbacks due to issues on both sides. One of the main areas where project management could improve is changing the methodology of how projects are handled in that waterfall is too restrictive and an agile approach would greatly smooth the project progression.

Another reason this could have been difficult was the restriction of only using 1 developer/person during the entire project. being at opposite ends of the timezone made communication difficult as well as our companies are 5.5 hours apart. tools such as Trello, Skype, zoom and email were used.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The most impressive aspect of Octal IT Solution was their ability to develop any request we had. They understood the project and its needs. They delivered on the functionality of both the front- and backend, flawlessly, as designed with us. This also was impressive given that they used 1-2 developers for the entire project.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The App being multi language required more work and translations so we had a few back and forth to finalise and get a good version.

Octal presents a great value for money for its services. The team is quick to respond to changes and demonstrates a good amount of agility. They are technically smart and delivered a good product at the end of the engagement as well as suggest ideas which is good from the product point of view.

Agile project management and easy communication via WhatsApp, Skype and Zoom. After every sprint they give a demo and take feedback and include in next sprints

Their willingness to work on changes and deliver the base scope within budget was impressive. Also the point of contact and communication within the entire team is very impressive. They wait for proper feedback and listen to their clients.

We mainly focused on vendors in Singapore as we wanted to have face-to-face discussions and meetings. So, we considered location, budget, the vendor's successful projects and clients' testimonials. We selected Octal because they have years of experience in mobile application development and they understood the aspects of our project.

The application was for Android. We provided all the specifications such as app features and designs. There were few changes made between meetings and they were easy to communicate with and agreeable with the adjustments.

They could have improved more on explaining the extra charges that could have incurred during the course of app development.

We have few development companies and interview the developer and selected the Octal based on the resource experiences and also with the reasonable cost.

We have the business requirements and approach to developer to estimated the timeline for the development. Project plan has planned and share with developers to meet the time line for each stage. For us, we use PHP to do the development.

Developers are knowledgeable and responsible for their tasks. We managed to deliver the projects as per time line for 80% of the projects.

Developers are quiet good to work with. They delivered their assigned tasks, which is the most important thing for us.
