• Provide a cloud-based, highly customizable, adaptable data transformation application to accept a variety of data formats (MSSQL, CSV, etc.) and transform it to a provided JSON data spec. 
• Allow customized mapping of data fields

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The measure of success was how well the data in the source system matched the transformed data once it was imported into the new system. We used a variety of metrics including A/R reports, case counts, and detailed spot comparisons.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

No formal project management within Smart Maple. Predictably, the better the requirements of a particular portion of the project were defined, the better Smart Maple was at estimating level of effort and delivering on time. Vague requirements led to elongated timelines as scope changed mid stream. The team was generally very responsive via messaging app despite a large time difference between our locations.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The Smart Maple Technology team builds what you want them to build and it works. That shouldn't be impressive or unique among custom software vendors, but it is.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Smart Maple Technology could have done differently?

Sometimes requirements were not defined very well (that was on us) and left much open to interpretation. In the interest of speed, the team tended to make assumptions rather than ask questions. Ultimately, that led to more work and longer timelines due to things having to be redone.
