I researched several different freelance web designers.

They asked us to switch our web hosting service, then we selected a design template. I gave them several changes to the template, which they made over the course of a couple weeks. They also set up Word Press with all the needed plugins. After a couple weeks, they sent me a draft to review and showed me how to edit my website. I made several changes on my own, and then we launched.

No telephone service, so you have to contact them through email. They usually take about one day to respond, so changes don't happen overnight.

I needed a website/blog to archive my writings and post, edit and share them quickly, without much effort to post so I could spend more time creating content.

The deciding factor was cost to be honest, but I don't think any other company would have delivered anything better for less than a thousand times what I spend with them.

The objective was to set up a theme in the page and change the details as I pointed out for them. We had a chat and everything was done very fast, no problems in the execution.

The site is great, I'm really satisfied with the outcome and didn't expect to happen as fast as it went.

We communicate every other day, and sometimes everyday. The communication is always very direct and clear, and that's key to the success and speed of the project. Doing step by step, we took barely a month to do everything from 0 to 100.

Their patience and clearness of communication really surprised me, and I can't overstate how much that is of the utmost importance.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I think the video of how to edit your own site could have been a little bit more detailed, but I'm fine with it and I kind of like to find out things on my own so for me it was not a bother.

Sven would email me multiple times a week with the next steps to follow with specific links and instructions. There was personalized videos to what I needed to do next and updates on what they were doing at the moment.

I loved how simple it seemed. Once I would get the next steps or a video showing me what to do, it all seemed so simple!

Working with Sven and the Free Website Guys to help create and set up my website was amazing. I am so glad I got to work with them. I wish I had worked with them sooner. It was such a simple process, I highly recommend them with help for your website!

This will help greatly with my business. Especially as I can edit my website myself, adding photos and information.

If I ever need any other things doing I would only use these guys. I can’t recommend them enough! I’m don’t know anything about the technologies used, I was guided by them and I am happy with the result.

I had a website designed for me that was difficult to navigate and with my limited skills in every aspect of technology I needed help. I wanted an updated website that I could easily access.

They were free to me. As an artist with little exposure I know a website is important. And as I am a teaching artist coping with the challenge of no classes (income) due to the pandemic, free was the right price for me.

Every step was laid out in easy to understand emails and videos. Even when I struggled to finish my portion of a task, they were quick to help me resolve it. I now have a perfect template to work from to customize my art.

The team was very easy going, great with details, and had good communication skills. Working with Sven and the rest of The Free Website Guys has been exceptionally easy! I have attempted setting up my own website a few times using some of the free sites online and I was never able to accomplish much, it was still too intimidating.

I now realize there is a tremendous amount of work that goes on behind the ‘pretty pages’ of a website. Each step I needed to complete was well thought out, with easy to watch videos. It was helpful as I could re-watch if needed.

And if I did not understand something or made a mistake it was a quick email with a prompt response to my questions or a kind message to let me know it was all good. I appreciate all this work and the help I received and recommend them wholeheartedly!

First that for me it was free. I’ve been trying to utilize some of the free sites myself for a couple years and I could never get past the first page. They made this so easy.

The outcome was a website that was set up and ready for me to copy and paste my own wording and customize the pictures.

Constant emails between myself and the lead developer meant communication went well. I did not have to deal with many people and only had one contact person.

They really helped me through the whole process from start to finish. The videos where so helpful during each step. The follow-ups and continuous emails with updates were great to keep us in the loop the whole time.

A more detailed how-to video on customizing the website and how to navigate the WordPress site.
